Answers to the questions we get most about Paint Protection Film and Ceramic Coating. Still unsure? Get a fast local quote.
What’s the difference between PPF and Ceramic Coating?
➕
PPF (clear polyurethane film) is a physical shield against rock chips, scratches, and road rash—ideal for high-impact areas (bumper, hood, fenders).
Ceramic Coating is a liquid polymer that bonds to paint for deep gloss, UV/chemical resistance, and easier washing (hydrophobic), but it won’t stop rock chips.
Many Sacramento drivers do both: PPF on the front and ceramic over the rest for gloss and easy maintenance.
How long do they last in Sacramento’s sun?
➕
Quality PPF typically protects for 5–10 years (self-healing films can reduce swirl marks).
Ceramic coatings range from ~1 to 5+ years depending on product tier, maintenance, and storage. We’ll recommend the right tier for your use (daily driver vs. garage-kept).
What areas should I protect with PPF?
➕
Minimum: High-impact kit (front bumper, partial hood/fenders, mirrors).
Best value: Full Front (full hood, full fenders, bumper, lights, mirrors).
Maximum: Full Body for performance or long-term ownership. We computer-cut patterns for clean alignment.
How much does it cost?
➕
Pricing depends on vehicle size/complexity and coverage. Most Sacramento & Elk Grove quotes fall into transparent package ranges
(High-Impact, Full Front, Full Body for PPF; 1–5 year tiers for ceramic).

How long does installation take?
➕
PPF High-Impact: usually same day; Full Front: 1 day; Full Body: 2–3+ days.
Ceramic single layer: same day; multi-layer: 1–2 days (includes prep & cure time). We’ll confirm exact timing at booking.
What’s the maintenance like after coating or film?
➕
Hand wash with pH-neutral soap and quality wash media. Avoid automatic brushes. For coatings, periodic topper/silica spray keeps slickness high.
For PPF, avoid pressure-washing edges up close. We’ll send you a simple aftercare guide with your job.
Is PPF visible? Will ceramic change my paint color?
➕
Quality PPF is nearly invisible when installed correctly; seams are minimized where possible.
Ceramic coatings are clear—no color change—just deeper gloss and richer reflections.
Do you offer warranties?
➕
Yes—our films and coatings include manufacturer-backed coverage and our workmanship guarantee.
We’ll review specific terms (yellowing, cracking, durability period) with your chosen product/tier.
Can you coat over PPF? What about glass and wheels?
➕
Absolutely—many clients choose PPF on high-impact panels and apply ceramic over both paint and PPF for uniform gloss and easy washing.
We also offer coatings for glass, wheels, and trim for a complete protection system.
